Storms, storms, storms. That’s all I ever think about when there’s a black sky. Like last year at Edgemere elementry. I was in my classroom when I looked out the window. The sky was getting dark, the wind was starting to blow the… woah, getting too far there. Let’s start from the beginning, shall we?

“Ok kids go back to your seats and start on your writing” , Mrs, Hulburt said.

Squeak! The intercom began to speak. “Attention boys and girls every one in the halls now!” Mrs. Maldonado said.

I was in shock. It was as frightening as a hurricane going 5,555 mph. My classmates and I all bolted into the hallways. “What if its a huricane, tornado, or…or…or….” My friend Naomi yelled loudly and I mean loudly.

We stayed in the halls for more than 45 minutes. While we were waiting… The trees were shivering, the wind was howling, I was shaking. And not to be outdone by my behavior but the sky was pitch black. Now I was really freaked out.

A few more minutes passed. Tic tock tock tic tock. “This is so boring!” i yelled We all [kinder, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th] fidged through the frightening thing that was going to happen to us.

“Wait it’s getting lighter and lighter I told Naomi. Poof! she sounded relivived “I can’t believe you thought it was a hurricane or something,” she said to me . ”But I didn’t know. Never mind this day has been so confusing anyway.”

So we went into the class. Mrs. Hulburt explained it was a tornado warning. Lesson learned. If you ever have to go into he halls, you know why.

She was my third grade teacher. She taught me many things and a few jokes here and there. They weren’t real jokes. She just made us laugh. She was my favorite teacher ever and she still is. I am thankful for her teaching me math and reading because I passed the TAKS when she taught me it. And I hope it happens again because she’s with me again this year. I hope I pass.
