A hero is someone you look up to, someone you want to be like, and someone who makes you feel good about yourself. Heroes don’t have to be famous, they can be every day people from age 8 to 80. Anyone can be a hero. One of my heroes is my friend Mikey. Mikey is an 8th grader who I have known as long as I can remember. We take karate together.
A hero is someone you look up to. I look up to Mikey because he has a great personality. He is quiet and polite, but speaks his mind when he needs to. Mikey is nice and funny. He makes me laugh.
A hero is someone you want to be like. I want to be like Mikey because he is a black belt in karate, which is one of my goals. He is such a hard worker. He doesn’t complain very often.
A hero is someone who makes you feel good about yourself. Mikey makes me feel good about myself by giving me advice during karate. One day we were sparring and I was sparring against him. Mikey could have kicked my you-know-what…but he lightened up on on me and gave me some ideas about how to spar better. His words made me feel more confidant.
Heroes don’t have to be famous. Mikey isn’t famous. He’s an every day person between the ages of 8 to 80. Mikey is my friend. Mikey is my hero.

As I sit at the kitchen table, thinking just how bored I am, my stomach begins to rumble. Grrrr-uuummmmmble…sounding just like an enormous cheering crowd at football game. Grrr-uuummmmmble! My mind ponders what to eat. Chicken? No… Mashed Potatoes? No… Hot Dog? No…. And then it hit me-I’ll make a Grand Slamwich! What’s a Grand Slamwich you ask? How do you make one? Well, let me tell you!
To make a Grand Slamwich you will need 2 slices of bread, sliced tomatoes, Cheddar-Jack Cheese (sliced-I prefer Tillamook Cheese!), lettuce, strips of bacon (cooked), ground beef (crumbled and fully cooked), mustard, ketchup, butter, an olive, and one toothpick.
The first thing you need to do is butter the two slices of bread and place onto a griddle. Toast the bread on the griddle until it is golden brown. While it is toasting, place one layer of bacon onto one of the slices of bread. Next, place one layer of cheese on top of the bacon, followed a thick layer of ground beef. You should then place another layer of cheese on top of the ground beef.
Once the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted, remove the sandwich from the griddle and top with lettuce, sliced tomatoes, ketchup and mustard before placing the second slice of bread on top.
Finally, spear your olive with toothpick and stick toothpick through the sandwich. You can sit down with your Grand Slamwich, favorite chips, and a soda for a luscious tasting meal.

I told you that I had another blog. It was called “These Are the Days”. I started it when I was in 2nd grade. But now that I’m in 4th grade I wanted a new blog with a new title. You can still read what I wrote on my old blog though. I’m also putting it in my blogroll. I hope you do and leave some comments!
Tonight I was looking at some stuff about the Constitution and my mom showed me a quiz that I could take about our Founding Fathers. The quiz asks you questions about your life and personality. When I took it I found out that I am most like J. Wilson…which I was happy but kind of sad about because I wanted to be like George Washington. You can try taking the quiz to see which Founding Father you are like on this Constitution Page.
My name is Christopher and I am in 4th grade. I am the kind of kid who likes history and politics. I like to talk to people about their political beliefs and debate with them. I love reading about Presidents. I like reading about them because you learn interesting facts about what they did and what their hobbies were. My favorite sports are soccer, football, and karate. In karate I am a red/black belt. I only have one more belt to go until I get my black belt!
I like being in 4th grade because there are a lot of challenges. Like math problems-in 3rd grade they were easy and now they are hard. Another thing I like about 4th grade is that we have blogs. I love having a blog. I had a blog before but this is my new one. I think having a blog is really cool because regular writing is kind of boring but when you put your writing on a blog it’s really cool!
