President Obama’s Speech

September 9, 2009 · No Comments

I thought President Obama’s speech was very good. He got his point out in a way kids would understand about. I am not a huge fan of Obama but i thought this was his best speech yet. He talked about many different things all about education. He said this year he wanted kids to do their best in everything mainly education. I was truly amazed by how much he cared about kids and their education. I hope kids across the world listened to him because I did and it changed the way I thought about education.

Ms. Ladys Past

September 2, 2009 · 1 Comment

Last summer I got a new dog and named her Ms. Lady. She was in a drainage ditch at edgemere and was to scared to come out. When she came out once, kids tried to catch by chasing her. Know when ever somebody is behind her she gets freaked out. Anyways the school called someone to bring a cage, they put steak in the cage so they could con her out of the ditch.

She finally came out of the ditch and got trapped in the cage. The school called to tell us that they caught the dog and they asked if We wanted to go over there and look at her. So me and my mom went over to the school to check her out. once we got there and looked at her we thought she was the cutest puppy ever. So I begged my mom and asked her if we could take the puppy. You will never guessed what happened after that she said… YES. Oh boy was I excited we got a new puppy. After leaving the school we took her to the vet to she if she was sick. Sadly she had a stomach bug. So the doctor gave us medicine and she was cured.

Barack Obama’s Inaguration

February 8, 2009 · No Comments

On January 20th Barack Obama became the first African American president. First, he laid his hand on a Bible then was sworn in to do the best job as president. The he gave a speech letting the Americans know what he would do to improve are nation. Here are a few things he said, “America is a friend to each nation.” “We are the keepers of this legacy.” He also stated, “We will not apologize for the way we live.” Also “The world will change and we must change with it” “This is the price of citizenship.” One thing that impacted me the most was that “People have fought and died so we would have a better life in America.” I hope that he continues to make our nation strong.

The Kid Who Never Cared

January 9, 2009 · No Comments

In a mansion there lived Michael Bishop who was only 10. His parents had died many years ago, and the only one who took care of him was his butler Nick. The only way Michael could get his parent’s money was by helping homeless people at the Community Service Center. Today he had to give them presents for Christmas. “Mr.Bishop, are you almost ready?” said Nick. “Almost Nick!” Michael shouted from upstairs. It took about 15 minutes more for Michael to get ready. Then he was of in his limousine to the Community Service Center. While he was being driven to the Community Service Center he thought to himself I only want to get the money from helping the homeless people do not actually care for them.  When he got there he went inside, sat behind the table and started to give out presents. After one hour of giving out presents one kid named Stephen Nickleberry came along and asked for a present. Michael didn’t give him one and acted like nothing was wrong. “Hey why didn’t I get one!?” Stephen shouted. Michael glared at him and through clenched teeth said “Next!” Michael had not given Stephen a present because of his horrible, nasty, horrid, looks. After one more hour of giving out presents Michael could get his money. He got $500,000 cash, went to his house, and knocked out immediately. Michael had three very eccentric dreams. One was Christmas Past and in that dream it showed him and his parents on Christmas. He was hugging them because they had gotten him a new bike. His second dream was Christmas Present, in that dream he saw himself not giving a present to Stephen. Then Christmas future came along, in that dream it showed Stephen as the richest man in the world, and Michael as a homeless person with a sign saying Help The Poor. He woke up after those dreams in the middle of the night and decided that he would go visit Stephen at the Community Service Center in the morning. The next morning he woke up, got ready and was off to the Community Service Center. When he got there he asked for Stephen Nickleberry at the reception desk because homeless people got to stay there for Christmas. They took Michael to Stephen’s room and left him alone with Stephen. He woke up Stephen and asked him “Do you want to live with me?” Stephen was a little flabbergasted at first but then replied “Yes.” From then on Michael was the kid who cared and Stephen and him were the best of friends for life.

The Family Reunion

October 17, 2008 · 2 Comments

“Mom, Mom! Look how much people are here.”

“Yes son, I know” she said.

I was 6 or 7 when my mom, granny, poppy, and I were at my first family reunion. There was people EVERYWHERE, it was kind of cool. There was a pavilion, a creek with fish and tadpoles, horse shoes, and a beanbag toss.

First, I met all my family,  there was at least a hundred new family members that I met. Next I went into the creek with my cousin. We got some cups and tried to catch some tadpoles. It was awesome. We saw an almost fully developed frog and tried to catch it. Sadly, we did not. We also saw a gold fish and tried to catch it but no luck whatsoever.

Then , we saw a crayfish and tried to catch it. Umm, nice try, but no cigar. I stayed in the creek for like four hours!

“Man, that was the best family reunion I ever had,” I exclaimed to my mom. I can’t wait – in two years, I get to go back to Ohio.  I never thought I would ever have another family reunion like that one again. But who knows what’s to come in two years.

Character Sketch of The Trunchbull

October 3, 2008 · No Comments

The Trunchbull is dressed in green trousers with a very big shirt. The Trunchbull is very cruel, rough, and mean to children. The children and adults are scared of her so they act very calm and nice around her. The Trunchbull says to children that she will put them in the chokey if they get an answer wrong or do something mean to her.  The other kids say she is very mean ,cruel and dangerous like in the book Matilda says she is dangerous on page 118. The Trunchbull is very large in  height, is very fat, and her hair is in a bun. The author says she is very scary looking and her body is very big and muscular. The Trunchbull said that she was never a baby and that she was fed up with Miss Honeys class.

My Bloody Tongue

September 12, 2008 · 5 Comments

I was about one and a half when I was tossing and turning in my mom’s bed. Suddenly I fell out of the bed and banged my head on the night stand and bit my tongue. I let out an ear-piercing scream that woke my mom up immediately. My mom picked me up with blood squirting all over her nice white robe. She took me to the kitchen (because it had a bright light) and checked me to make sure I hadn’t cracked my head open. Luckily I didn’t crack my head open but I did slice my tongue. My mom put a wash cloth in my mouth so I sucked on it and put me to bed with a soaking red robe.

Carlsbad Caverns

May 23, 2008 · No Comments

Yesterday (May,22,2008) the whole fourth grade went to Carlsbad Caverns. It was so awesome seeing the Lions Tail and the Witches Finger. First of all what we all need to learn what’s pretty made up of it Stalagmites and Stalagtites ,and how they form is water (rain, snow, sleet and hail) sinks into the ground and picks up carbon dioxide, so when those two mix they make acid and the acid melts away the the rock and the caverns form. Again water gets through the the ground and starts dripping in the cave and as the water drips it collects minerals and then minerals keep building up, and up,and up until a Stalagtite forms. Guess what, it takes 72 years to make a stalagtite the size of your finger nail.

As for the bat flight it was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. One bat comes out then two bats come out then thousands of bats come out. At first when I saw the first hundred fly out I thought that was it but then thousands and thousands of bats flew out . I highly recomend you see both the bat flight and the caverns one day.

Summer Leage Basketball Paractice

May 11, 2008 · No Comments

I’m joining a summer league basketball team (The Warriors) which is really exciting to me. The only thing that isn’t exciting to me is the practice. The practice is 2 hours (which means I won’t get home till 9 or later) long of non stop basketball. Pretty much what we have to do is run 10 laps around the court, layups, passing drills, and then at the end of practice we have a game against the older kids on our team. To me the worst thing of all is running in your spot and going from side to side touching the ground. They make us do all this stuff to learn how to condition ourselves and to get us to move quicker. Even though it’ll be a lot of hard work I’m looking forward to it.
