I am a girl who is different from other girls. I am punk. I love TV, music (rock, punk, etc.) and other things normal girls would think are strange. I am strange! But I don’t care, I LOVE being different. As a matter of fact I am probably the only girl in my class that acts like this and no, it’s not unnatural behavior or whatever you want to call it but I like to call it shoo ba bub. No trust me I am only kidding. Here are some of the bands I like and shows and movies and stuff like that. I like Chevelle, Greenday, and Korn. Some of the movies are… OK I have a lot of favorite movies. Some of my favorite shows are, Spongebob, MightyB!, n’ stuff. I have like three really good best friends. They are Cassandra, Lupita, and Kayla.
When you say you’re punk, what do you think that means?
I admire you for willing to be different. It’s strange; sometimes you have to be brave just to be who you are instead of just going along with what everybody else is doing. People’s first reaction to anything out of the ordinary is often to dismiss it or make fun of it, so it can be hard. Hopefully that doesn’t happen to you.

Well I think that it’s OK to be different from other girls and I think that it is a little bit nicer. And what do you mean by “what is punk?” Well it’s simple and it is kind of like this, you don’t like rap and only a little bit of hip-hop, you listen to rock like the bands I listed above, and you don’t dress girly. Well while we are talking about punk, I made up a new style: Gunk. It’s girly and punk mixed together. people think its funny when I say it. And when Kalya, Lupia, Cassandra and I say it. I giggled when I read your post because what I envision as “punk” is so NOT what I see when I see you at school. I suppose its all about our experiences in life and our background knowledge shapes our impressions of things.
I think its completely okay to be different from everybody else. Life gets boring if we are all the same. What’s hard though, is when people judge you for being different. Has that every happened to you?

Good post Johanna, I’m really glad that you like to be different` that makes up who you are, and to me you are very unique. But maybe you could explain why you like being different, just so people could get a better understanding of your story. Did you know that all the stuff you wrote about that you liked except the TV shows, I absolutly love. THat is so cool!
