Nature Owls Part=1

October 30th, 2008

A moonlight night, peeling the walls on the cave when suddenly, a bird shaped shadow blocked the light from all of its followers. Then a horrible screeching noise pierced the ears of all of the animals in the woods. EEEEECH! EECH! The owl ahead screeched looking for food to feast on. Its chestnut colored feathers and burnt orange beak glimmered in the sky as it faded into the foggy clouds. A summer aroma seemed to bounce off of each and every leaf on the forest green leaves.

FWEEEWW!! The owl has found its supper. A small snow colored mouse lept from a trap that almost got its tail. The owl sped like a bullet toward the mouse. And finally…. CRACK!! The owl breaks the mouces neck and the owl flies away with the mouse dangling from its beak. CRACKLE!! The owl lands in his nest finding a mother and five baby birds. It was practically a feast.

The next day, the father owl goes out for his next task, to greet the worms. (By greet, I mean eat.) The hill had lept a shadow over their prairie. The light peels the eyelids of animals, waking them slowly but surely. BABT! The owl finds the worm and lands on the damp, warm ground. The creek babbling in the distance. The owl looks up with the worm in its mouth and flies off, landing in its nest and feeding his young. And falling asleep after a long night of restless sleep…

Warm Water Creek

October 23rd, 2008

Late at night, Joan sat on the cream, retro couch hoping to get some sleep. Four creamy, peach colored walls surrounded her in peace and silence. As her eyes looked dead straight into the T.V., she heard an animal cry and a loud bang of metal by the Creamers Ice Cream Parlor. She turned her head directly to the noise and with the flick of a wand, she was in a dark alley.

She saw eight amber eyes burn into hers. The were cat’s eyes, thank goodness. She quickly covered her nose at the stench of the trash can the cats had knocked down for food. Again, with the flick of a wand, she was at a bad smelling creek. Lilly pads were all over the place. There was a rusted, swinging sign that said in big cursive letters, “Welcome to Lilly Pad Creek.”

She could smell the algae growing on the sides. It made her gag, but she couldn’t help it. It was a wonderful starry night for a quick broom fly, so she snapped her fingers and her wand ended up in her hand. She got on it and clicked her heels, and away she went.

She had no pet. Although most witches would have a black pet cat, she didn’t. Most witches would look horridly ugly, she didn’t. She had beautiful blue eyes and long red hair with a pair of black, pointed toes witch shoes. She wasn’t wrinkly and old, she was young and NOT wrinkly. That night, powder dust fell out of her hat and landed in the creek. The creek smelled of sweet peas and daisies. The water was not as cold and brittle as it normally was, it was warm and fresh. There were no algae on the sides any more. Passersby wondered what happened. Someone came by, took the “Welcome to Lilly Pad Creek” sign down and put up a wonderful “Welcome To The Warm Water Creek” sign in its place. There was a reflection in the water of a girl with blue eyes and long red hair in the water and that was the tale of Warm Water Creek.

The “Big” Jump (first published piece)

October 16th, 2008

Shll-BANG! “Wow! That is some slippery ice!” I said shocked. I remember the thick white fog that rolled across the ice skating stadium floor. Well, about fifteen minutes of pure torture, I stopped my skates, closed my eyes, poked myself very hard to just get out there and skate. So I did, it just took me forever.

So after I got a hold of it, I went to the middle of the rink, which led to a crack, which led to a ramp so tiny you could hardly see it. The next thing you know, I was about a foot in the air, eyes wide, heart thumping, face pale, and legs about another foot apart. When I landed, I felt as stiff as a rock. I could feel the cool breeze move around me and I heard well, the majority of the skates stop. Also when I landed, I felt like a little puppy shaking because it was going to the vet to get it’s shots. When I jumped up, it felt like it was playing in slow motion.

When I got home, I told my easily amused grandma and my very UN easily amused cousin. And they were shocked! Kind of…

The Big Toe

October 3rd, 2008

Once there was a boy who was raking in the garden and he found a big toe sticking out of the soil. He tugged at it, but it wouldn’t come out, so he Tugged as hard as he could and brought it to his mom. “It looks nice and plump.” She said.” I will put it in our soup for dinner tonight! How delightful it will be!” So that night, she put it in the soup and they ate it. Then, when it got dark, they went to bed. The boy fell asleep, but he heard a voice in the distance, and it said: “Whoooo has my toe? Whoooo?” The boy got scared, but thought, he’ll never find me. I’m far away. Then it got closer. “Whooo has my toe? Whoo?” This time the boy was scared out of his wits. This time, the screen door opened, then closed again and he could hear footsteps coming closer. “Whoooo has it?” It cried. He could hear it in his room, fiddling around. “Who has it?” It said loudly. “YOU DO!!” It cried so loudly.

Awesome story, huh? Stay tuned and maybe I’ll write more…

MUAAAAHHHHHHH!!!

Just kidding.
