Hi, I am R. Salazar a 4th grade teacher at Edgemere Elementary School. I have been teaching for 13 years. I taught 6th grade for 2 years, 5th grade for 10 years and I am starting my 2nd year in 4th grade. Being a teacher has many challenges. Now in the times of high stakes testing and NCLB it is sometimes hard to remember the real reason I am in this profession. THE CHILDREN. One of the best feeling in the education world is when you can see the difference you have made in a child’s life. The look in their eyes when they explain and demonstrate with mastery a concept that was a personal challenge for them. You know they will remember those moments.
