Archive for who am I

This summer I decided to go back to school. I was a little unsure about using my summer to do this, but my kids were great about it. They have help out so much, I wouldn’t be able to have done it without their help. Esteban is the one that encourage me to go back to school, and would give me pep talks on those days I felt it was to  much. Karina was the one I would bounce ideas off on. She has read so may books we would have book talks and discuss our different perspectives on some books. Elias was my reading partner. I was required to read all the caldecott award books and Elias was my reading partner. He enjoyed most, but there were a few that were too long for his attention span. The 2008 award book is 525 pages long, too long for him.

I took a children’s literature class, it had lots and lots of reading but it was very refreshing. I read a lot of award winning book that I hadn’t read and realizes I had missed out on many good books. This class made me realize how important it is to read and read and keep reading. There are so many wonderful books to engage all readers. I can’t wait to share some of these books with my 2008-2009 class.

Hi this is my first blog and I am excited but a bit nervous. I hope this will help my students this next school year with their writing experiences. I look forward to the challenge of being able to integrate technology throughout the 4th grade content matter.
